The Traffic Control Person Ahead sign indicates an area where a traffic control person (TCP) is directing traffic through the use of a CS-26 Traffic Control Paddle. Drivers are required to follow the directions of the TCP.

The Traffic Control Person Ahead sign must be used at all times when a TCP is on duty and must be taken down or covered when the TCP is not on duty. The sign is placed last in sequence of signs in advance of the TCP at a distance determined by referring to the appropriate typical layout in Division D4, but in no case less than the minimum stopping sight distance for the prevailing speed of traffic on the road, so that vehicles can come to a safe stop.
